The introduction of this resale platform comes on the heels of Fjällräven’s recognition in the 2024 Circular Brands report, where the brand earned the top spot in both the overall clothing industry category and the outdoor clothing category. The report, produced by Tradera, Sweden’s largest circular market, highlights brands that are making significant strides toward a sustainable future by designing products that are cherished and used over and over again.
Fjällräven has made significant strides in its sustainability efforts, particularly in increasing the number of product repairs. In 2023, the brand successfully repaired 8,531 items, a substantial rise from the 3,556 repairs in 2021. This dedication to repair and reuse aligns with Fjällräven’s mission to produce outdoor gear that not only endures over time but also reduces its environmental impact.

The launch of Fjällräven Pre-Loved represents the newest collaboration with Archive to introduce or enhance a resale program this year. Archive supports over 50 global brands in their resale endeavors, yielding impressive outcomes in attracting and retaining customers. On average, half of the resale customers are new to the brand, and those who participate in resale initiatives demonstrate 2 to 3 times the lifetime value compared to customers who exclusively buy at full price. Brands that employ a peer-to-peer resale model observe that more than 60% of sellers opt for brand credit instead of cash, and typically end up spending three times that amount with the brand.
