The REI Co-op Membership Fees
Yes, there is one time $30 fee for the REI Co-op Membership but it will pay for itself. There are no yearly subscription fees or annual dues—ever! Members get lifetime benefits, including an estimated 10% back on eligible purchases. REI also will send you a $30 bonus card for your next purchase. Be careful though —your bonus card expires 30 days after it’s issued to you. This is their way of you getting back in the store or to shop the REI website.

How Does the REI Co-op Membership Work?
Members get back 10%. Shop eligible full-price co-op purchases throughout the year to earn an annual estimated 10% Co-op Member Reward. You’ll see your reward in your account the following March. 10% is typical but not guaranteed.
Hello spring! Hello reward! Your Co-op Member Reward is added to your account in March following the year it was earned. REI will notify you by mail or email to the addresses in your membership.
Treat yourself to new gear. To spend your reward at REI Co-op online, in store, or with the app, sign in (or give your member info at store checkout). Your reward will be in your account, ready to redeem. 2024 Rewards expire January 3, 2027

Members can trade in & shop gently used gear. Get an REI Co-op gift card when you reimagine the lifecycle of your gear.
- Round up the pre-loved gear you want to trade in. Check its trade-in eligibility and credit value online.
- Bring it to your nearest REI store or ship it for $6 (we supply the label).
- Once your trade-in is complete, REI will e-mail you an REI e-gift card!
