Savor the Summit is Park City, Utah’s premier outdoor dining event, held annually on historic Main Street. This signature outdoor dining experience transforms the downtown strip into a festive, open-air dining room with a single, mile-long “Grande Table” that stretches the length of the street. Thousands of guests gather for an evening of great drinks, amazing food, conversation, and breathtaking mountain scenery. Savor the Summit takes over Main Street end to end, establishing itself as a bold, one-of-a-kind celebration of culinary culture and small-town charm. This happens each year around the Summer Solstice.
Top local restaurants take the spotlight at Savor the Summit. Each participating venue curates an exclusive prix-fixe menu, showcasing regional ingredients, seasonal flavors, and world-class culinary delights. The event is not a street fair. It is a formal, reservation-only, dining experience and is not cheap. From high-end steakhouses to boutique bistros, each restaurant creates a unique atmosphere at its own table section, making every reservation feel personal and elevated. Guests don’t just eat—they experience the very best of Park City’s dynamic food scene.
The ambiance at Savor the Summit is energetic and immersive. Live bands play throughout the evening, creating a festival style feeling that elevates the fun. For those not dining with a restaurant, the High West Spirit Garden offers an adult-friendly gathering spot with craft cocktails, light bites, and a front-row view of the event and live music. It ensures no one is left out of the celebration, even without a reservation.
Participation in the “main event” requires planning and reservations. Restaurants manage their own reservation lists, and spots fill quickly, usually months in advance. Main Street closes to traffic early in the day for setup, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy world class shopping, pre-dinner drinks, and entertainment. This isn’t a passive event; it requires action, preparation, and an appetite for both food and fun. Locals and past attendees know that Savor the Summit is not to be missed.
If you plan on visiting Savor the Summit or Park City in general, make reservations early and check out Park City Lodging. They manage several locations around town and even have units that overlook Main Street and Savor the Summit.
Dinner With Firewood on Main in Park City, Utah
I had the luxury of joining Firewood in Park City at Savor the Summit and it was an amazing culinary experience. If you are not familiar with Firewood in Park City, it is a cozy, elevated dining destination located right on historic Main Street (near the top of the hill). The restaurant’s standout feature is its 14‑foot open‑flame wood stove, where every dish is prepared over cedar, cherry, or maple wood—adding smokey depth and seasonal richness to their menu. The industrial‑chic décor features reclaimed wood tables (crafted by Chef John Murcko himself!), exposed brick walls, and warm, turn‑of‑the‑century fixtures, offering a rustic yet refined backdrop that puts the open kitchen—and the dancing flames—at center stage
Chef Murcko, a pillar of the Park City culinary scene, launched Firewood in late 2016 after decades of leadership in local dining. Signiture dishes often feature locally sourced proteins like elk, trout, and beef from regional suplliers, alongside wood‑roasted vegetables and inventive starters. The menu rotates frequently, but highlights may include oak‑smoked trout toast, Wagyu bavette, or a vegan cauliflower‑avocado cake born from an internal chef competition. View Firewood’s menu.
