Front Entrance to the Chateau

When arriving at the front entrance of the Chateau, you’ll quickly realize you are in for a pretty special treat.

Chateau Lafayette - Double

The rooms in the Chateau are something to write home about. With 124 elegant rooms, the Chateau Lafayette features vaulted ceilings with crown molding, crystal chandeliers and two-story Palladian windows.

Nemacolin Summer Pools

Snow was in the forecast so the pools were closed.  It looks like we might need to do some exploring in the summer. The property also offers an indoor lap pool and indoor kids pool.

Swim year round and put in the miles. Nemacolin offer a 25 meter lap pool for the ambitious visitors.

Adventure Center - Climbing Wall

The climbing wall is another great summer activity that visitors can enjoy. Be sure to check out the adventure center for more information.

Falling Rock Winter_Aerial

Summer is fun, but winter also offers some great activities such as clay shooting, skiing, trail running, Jeep off-roading, and exploring the region. You will not get bored.

Nemacolin has it’s own version of a zoo and it’s pretty nice! Some of the wild life you may see are: red sheep, bears, bison, zebra, a bengal tiger, lions and wolves! Bonus: Many of the animals on the property were rescued from failing zoos and are unable to return to the wild.

20-miles of rugged trails and terrain await you on the expansive property. Our favorite part, you can use their Jeeps.

Nemacolin’s Jeep® Off-Road Driving Academy Instructional Series will have you behind the wheel and hitting the trails with your instructor after completing a surreal training course that allows you to get comfortable with the capabilities of the Jeep Rubicon.
Ready to DRIVE!

The Jeep Rubicon came out rather clean, considering all the trails we hit.

The entire property was beautifully decorated for the upcoming Christmas season, and the trees at the entrance boasted 6,000 lights per tree. We are not sure what they have to offer during other seasons, but our guess is it would be pretty awesome.

The resort boasts an extensive 21,000 bottle Wine Cellar. The resident Sommelier will provide appropriate recommendations to pair your meal and libation perfectly.

1928 Chateau Latour valued at $12,000 was just one of the amazing wines offered on the campus. There are price points for everyone.

I felt like a kid in a candy store … or the way I usually feel when walking into a bike shop.

Delirium Tremens
Let’s bring it back to real life. The beer selection at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort was pretty solid. Not a giant list, but you should be able to find something to suit your tastebuds. We did find they had a liking for Pennsylvania and East Coast Breweries. Luckily, they let this beauty in from Belgium.

To get in some trail running and mountain biking you need to venture a few miles away from the property but if you are into trap shooting fly fishing, they the field club is the spot for you.

The Hardy girls gym offers every piece of equipment that a gymnast could ask for. ie. foam pit, trampoline, balance beams, uneven bars, exercise spring floor, parallel bars, tumble track, vaulting table, pommel horse, rings, barrels and wedges. The gym is open to guests from 10am – 12pm on Saturdays and Sunday for a pleasingly affordable price of $10.
A Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond restaurant Lautrec is 1 of only 27 in the world to boast such honors. We did not eat here as it was quite pricey.

It may not have pedals but this old school Harley Davidson is pretty sweet.

The Woodlands Auto Toy Store opened in September 2000 and features a unique aspect of the Hardy Family Art Collection by displaying a wide variety of rare and antique automobiles.

Did we happen to mention the food on the grounds was simply amazing? You can even pop by for a meal even if not spending the night.

Something for everyone! A great getaway for couples or families!
