Overview
The HOKA Torrent 2 is lightweight at 7.6 oz (W), 9.3 oz (M) and offers solid cushioning for a trail running shoe that’s optimized for racing. It is no HOKA Speedgoat, nor is it intended to be. On fast days you’ll appreciate the aggressive sole featuring multi-directional lugs that improve the shoe’s grip on unpredictable trail conditions, rocks, roots and mud and the traditional lacing provides a snug fit. Underneath, a PROFLY midsole provides a snug fit for efficiency on the trail.
Old HOKA Torrent Versus the New Model
From the stack height and drop to the midsole build, almost everything stat about the Torrent 2 is identical in comparison to its predecessor, the original Torrent. The second edition is slightly heavier, according to HOKA, but the extra weight isn’t noticeable.
