The Topeak JoeBlow pump line offers over a dozen variations depending on location, but one thing for sure, you should be able to find one to fit your budget. The vivid black and yellow floor pumps have kept many cyclists afloat for quite a few years. As times have changed, so to have Topeak pumps and we are going to take a look at two of our favorites that fall under that $100 price point.
The JoeBlow range has dozens of models in the lineup, from the Sport III being pretty much the lowest offering to their digital versions, which offer up quite a few nice luxuries. So whether you are pumping up soccer balls or topping off your tires to that perfect PSI pre-ride, your buddy Joe Blow has you covered. Shop all Topeak floor pumps at Todson USA.
Steel is Real – Built to Last
Topeak does not cut corners on either of these pumps. Go ahead and toss them in the truck bed, leave them on the garage floor or let the kids pretend they’re lightsabers, okay maybe not the last one, the steel bases and barrels are dang near indestructible. For the record, most of their floor pumps feature a steel barrel and base.
Topeak JoeBlow Shared Parts
Now, both pumps offer some of the same cool features like the TwinHead® DX5 pump head with an extra-long, tangle-free hose making them easy to reach the valve stems. A durable steel barrel and large steel base with an ergonomic padded handle (different on the two models) make it easy to get your ride up to pressure fast.
Topeak JoeBlow Sport Digital Floor Pump
The JoeBlow Sport Digital floor pump is the new go-to pump for topping off tires before a ride or even airing up the kid’s soccer balls. The easy-to-read (for this old man) mid-mounted digital gauge delivers accurate tire pressure readings for any recommended gravel or mountain bike tire pressure. Simply put, I would not go back to a dial-style gauge. Accuracy and consistency are the key here. Every time I hop on my MTB I know I have 19psi in the front tire and 20psi in the rear, so I can rest assure the bike is always going to handle the same.
As far as performance goes there are no real issues. The gauge seems accurate when compared with Topeaks tire gauge and a competitor’s gauge. The pump head releases quickly on Presta valves (to be honest we did not try it with Schader) and offers little to no air loss. During our testing we experienced about a 1/2 pound of air loss once we hit 20 psi and checked the pressure with several tire gauges. If I had to find something to complain about, it would be the size of the barrel, it would be nice to maybe have a slightly larger one for quicker inflation of larger mountain bike tires, but then you might lose the ability to really hone in on that exact tire pressure.

Topeak JoeBlow Sport 2Stage Floor Pump
The JoeBlow Sport with a unique 2-stage design delivers both high pressure and high volume with the flip of a lever. Stage one opens both barrels for larger volume tires. Designed to reach 30 psi with 30% less effort than standard floor pumps, this is ideal for MTB and gravel tires. Stage two utilizes the small barrel for higher pressures or fine-tuning your pressure.
The Sport 2 Stage will take a Kenda gravel tire from pretty much flat to 30 psi in 6 or 7 pumps when on the high volume setting. After that, simply flip the lever over to the 30 plus position (high pressure) and pump away. There is no confusing settings either, as it is quite impossible to put in 40 psi when on the high volume setting.
