Photos and progress build of our 2023 Jeep Wrangler JL Xtreme Recon edition, our go-to vehicle for overlanding, adventure, and fun. The Recon is a high-performance version of the Jeep Wrangler. It comes with many upgrades, such as 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires, a two-inch lift kit, and Dana 44 axles with electronic locking differentials. The Xtreme Recon also has a unique look, with a hood that features functional air vents and a raised hood scoop. The Xtreme Recon is a great option for those who want a Jeep that is ready for off-road adventures right out of the box.

Lighting Options
We went through and replaced all the stock lights with Raxiom LED from Extreme Terrain. Raxiom makes a solid light for the money and we have had no issues with them so far. Install is a pain, but worth the headache and you’ll have that with any light.

For ditch lights, we went with a pair of the Ironman 4×4’s basic universal 3″ LED light. It was actually a takeoff from our old JK and have been running strong for 4 years. They put out a very nice 2850 lumens each are not obviously obtrusive. Mounts are courtesy of Amazon.
Cooking Out of a Jeep Wrangler
If you are off the beaten path, cooking out of the car is essential, and even on most road trips I have found that cooking takes more time, it is refreshing to get our of the car for a few minutes and enjoy some good food versus the local Crack Barrel or Wendy’s. Why compromise on good food.

This easy to travel with table is sturdy enough to cook on and is easy to wash down and packs up small. Not the sturdiest table on the market, but always handy to have around. The Primus Campfire Table is perfect for cooking on, light meal prep, a game or two and eating.

What’s ALWAYS In Our Jeep Wrangler
Always in our Wrangler is a first aid kit, and there aren’t many better than the My Medic MYFAK Pro. The MYFAK Pro features over 140 life-saving first aid supplies and also has a durable Hypalon MOLLE panel for easy storage and adjustability. It runs $300 but is a nice sense of security.
Maybe a little bit of an overkill, but I always have a Hults Bruk Agdor 28 Montreal Felling Axe. This axe is intended for dealing with small to larger sized trees. Perfect for trail clean-up and firewood. I also have a small Aneby axe as well that measures 20″.
It does make sense to carry a fire extinguisher. Weather your cooking on the tailgate or have campfire go astray, you’ll be thankful. What is really nice, companies like H3R Performance are making some great mounts for them, where they are secure, rattle free, and easily accessible.
